Weather Observation Competition
Program Introduction
The “Weather Observation Competition 2025 —— Community Microclimate Observations” is co-organized by Ho Koon Nature Education cum Astronomical Centre (Sponsored by Sik Sik Yuen), Hong Kong Observatory, and in collaboration with the Hong Kong Meteorological Society and Community Weather Information Network. This competition is territory-wide competitions and in line with the “E-learning Support Scheme” of the Quality Education Fund and the 2.0 version of the “Geography E-learning Package: Climate Change” project. The competition is designed to complement the HKDSE curriculum, and to enhance students’ knowledge in weather observations and raise their attention to the issue of climate change. Through the compilation of study report, students’ creativity and fieldwork skills will be promoted.
Programme Objectives
- Enhance students’ knowledge and interest in weather and climate.
- Explore the relationship between microclimate and human activities.
- Strengthen students’ understanding of the impacts of climate change,
and increase their awareness and knowledge of the topic.
